I still respect you.

No matter how unprofessional you acted today, I still respect you. Not that I want to but I have to. As part of my responsibility as a paulinian and a future teacher. I'd rather forgive you and understand your action than be compared to you. I know there will be lots of comparisons between us. Given the fact that you have been teaching for quite sometime now. I know I have nothing compared to what you've achieved, compared to your intellect but I am proud to say that I still have manners. Fine manners that a paulinian has and will always have. You maybe my superior now and I have no choice but to follow you but one day, I'll prove you wrong.

Practicum 101

So this is my first ever teaching experience. It kind of went very spontaneous since my cooperating teacher wasn't there to observe me. It's a good thing though, at least I was able to make some rapport with my students.

From the very start, I told them that I was nervous. I even asked them to be kind to me since it was my first teaching experience and for sure I will remember it for the rest of my life. It's kind of odd to stand infront of them, all eyes on me, patient, quiet, waiting for me to feed them with information.

You know how you list some motivation and stuff but when you see your students' faces, you'd be like, 'Nah, scratch the lesson plan!' So I started with fraction, I let my students draw this imaginary pizza, had it cut into slices, and so on. The students weren't completely behaving especially those people at the back. It kind of irritates me when students talk at the same time with me. I didn't got mad, it's just that, I wanted to be respected and it will be really nice if they keep quiet or at least pay attention.

There are those students who I think, most probably have ADD. It's just a thought, though. They're really irritating that I have to call their attention and repeatedly ask them to listen. When you're infront of 40 plus teenagers, you just can't control what you say. Well that's in my case. Maybe I'm just shocked with the number of students plus the pressure that I'm getting... I don't know. I think I did okay but what's hard is that the students are not as smart as the ones in the other section where you just need to give out examples, few explanations and there you go, sit back and give them a seatwork.

With this experience, I realized that your attitude and style of discipline depends on the students' attitude as well. In one class you can be funny, in another class you can be completely serious, especially if boys outnumbered the girls. I grew up in an all girls school and when I entered college, which I hoped is for girls only turned out to be co-ed already and since I'm enrolled I can't do anything about it but get along with it. It was hard to deal with guys especially with the noise that they're producing. It's like you'll know exactly when one is talking because of their deep voice, if they're matured. Girls' noise is so far from guys. Aside from the noise I also dealt with their naughtiness. I remember when I was in highschool, I was one of those students who answers back to teachers and answers nonsense things just to irritate the teacher, and I kinda think karma hit me! That's what exactly what they're doing. But wait that's just the FIRST day. FIRST day. What made it even worse is that, the guys were the ones doing it, not the girls. And they're just naughty as hell.

Being patient is one of the values that I try to imbibe nowadays. Aside from the continuous revision of the lesson plan from my cooperating teacher I also have to endure the noise and naughtiness that's coming from my students.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed teaching and still do. There's this feeling that I just can't explain :)

Who would've thought that I'd be teacher?

The year that was...

Dear Lord, Thank you for 2011. It may not be the best year that I had but it sure is one of the most memorable and heart breaking year for me. I learned a lot. Especially about life and money and of course about boys. Thank you for my family who's always been there for me no matter how spoiled I may be. I know I don't deserve all of these but I am grateful for all the things I have right now. I may not be completely happy when it comes to my love life but I guess I don't need that right now. I know you'll give me the best... in time. I won't be impatient, I just need to appreciate what I have and be contented and make the most out of it. Thank you as well for the strength that you've given me. I may be asking for more for the next remaining days of the year but I might as well get over what I'm feeling right now and make a brand new start next year :) So much to say... But thank you for everything. I have learned a lot this year.

My younger version :)

 Through the years...

My 1st schooling experience :) My Mom would always, always, let me wear this huge black and white head band, which is the only color allowed in the school. I love going to this playroom, which is non-existent anymore, they improved the pre-school part in SPCP. If I remember it right, I would sneak to go up that second story mini house and never make it, because my teacher, Teacher Lucy, always catches me. Too bad. Funny though, until I graduated high school in this school, Teacher Lucy is still "Ms. Lucy Laluyan". Wonder if she ever got married?

Told ya! Still sporting that huge head band, bigger than my head and makes my head look bigger. Same spot! Same classmates. When I was young, I used to part of the smartest classes in school. What happened?

I remember this day, didn't know that our pictures will be taken. Look how messy my hair looks.
I'm not even looking at the camera. LOL Before that moment, my friends and I are actually running around because I think that was after lunch. And that's our moment... to play. And play. ADHD-ish :)

Grade 2, still in the best section :) Hanggang jan nalang :P

Skipped to Grade 6, I don't have a scanned version of my class pictures between grade 3 - 5. Plus those were not really of good quality :P I wasn't able to do the McDo sign since the one beside me is big and her arms are so long, look at those. That whole line, I love all of them. Even though we've grown apart. I so have many memories with them :)

And my last year in high school :) What happened to Karilagan's quality? Super edited. I miss my friends here... really.

I'll get there, soon.

It's more than 3 weeks now and because of too much drama and pain I guess I just never had the courage to let it all out. Honestly, I'm still not okay. I just have to endure whatever this is that I'm feeling now. I'm happy that I can eat now, I can sleep without nightmares (except for the constant dreams about him) which, kinda suck. :| And yes, I'm flooded with school stuff, papers and dilemmas in practicum, I'm thankful for that! That's exactly what I need so I won't dwell on the things that hurt me...
